mass=1000kg
velocity=40km/h=100/9m/sec
time taken for the vehicle to stop=5secs
since,F=ma and a=velocity/time,
therefore,
F=1000kg*100/9m/sec/5secs.
=55555.555......N
=(rounding off)55556N.

Hi_________
we know force is mass x acceleration
f=ma
and acceleration is =v/t
so
f=mv/t
here m=1000kg
v=40km/h=40x1000/60x60=11.11m/s
t=5sec
f=1000x11.11/5=2222N
hope it help
