purchase cost = 10(22) = 220

number of eggs bought = 120
number rotten = 6
good eggs = 114
return = 114(2.5) = 285

profit = 285-220 = 65

you were correct

GIVEN:

Total dozen of eggs bought =10

Price of one dozen egg= Rs 22

cost price of 10 dozen eggs=220

Number of rotten eggs=6

The selling price of 1 egg= Rs 2.50

TO FIND:

The profit and loss of the vendor

SOLUTION:

1 dozen= 12 piece

10 dozen=120 piece

Price of 120 eggs =Rs 220

Net quantity of eggs=120-6

                                  =114 pieces

The selling price of 144 eggs =144*2.50

                                                 =Rs285

profit= selling price-cost price

        =285-220

profit=65

HENCE, The profit and loss of the vendor is Rs65
