Answer:

the correct answer is option (b). Rs 4.40

Step-by-step explanation:

Let , volume of the lemon juice the vendor bought is , l = 500 cc

and , price of l is , lp = 3.50 rupees

volume of the sugarcane juice the vendor is , s = 300 cc

and , price of s is , sp = 4.20 rupees

'Lemcane'  consists lemon juice and sugarcane juice in 4:3 ratio.

then, lemon juice in 400 cc  'Lemcane' = (400×(4/7) ) = 1600/7 cc

sugarcane juice in 400 cc  'Lemcane' = (400×(3/7) ) = 1200/7 cc

∴price of 1600/7 cc lemon juice = ( 3.50 × 1600)/( 500 × 7) = 1.6 cc

∴ price of 1200/7 cc sugarcane juice = ( 4.20 × 1200)/(300 × 7) = 2.4 cc

then , the original value of 400 cc  'Lemcane' is ( 1.6 + 2.4) = 4 rupees

to get 10 % profit on 400 cc  'Lemcane' the vendor must charge ,

( 4 × (110/100) ) =  4.40 rupees
