Given :

Dimensions of Verandah :

  • Length of Verandah = 15m
  • Breadth of Verandah = 12m

Dimensions of Tile :

  • Length of Tile = 500cm
  • Breadth of Tile = 300cm

To Find :

  • Number of tiles required to pave the verandah.

Solution :

Making the measurement same :

⠀⟶⠀100cm = 1m

⠀⟶⠀500cm = 500/100

⠀⟶⠀500cm = 5m

∴ Length of Tile = 5m

⠀⟶⠀100cm = 1m

⠀⟶⠀300cm = 300/100

⟶⠀300cm = 3m

∴ Breadth of Tile = 3m

Finding Area of Verandah :

⠀⟶⠀Area of Verandah = L × B

⠀⟶⠀Area of Verandah = 15 × 12

⠀⟶⠀Area of Verandah = 180m²

Finding Area of Tile :

⠀⟶⠀Area of Tile = L × B

⠀⟶⠀Area of Tile = 5 × 3

⠀⟶⠀Area of Tile = 15m²

Number of Tiles Required :

⠀⟶⠀Area of Verandah/Area of Tile

⠀⟶⠀180/15

⠀⟶⠀12 tiles

∴ 12 tiles will be required to pave the verandah.

Given :

  • A verandah 15 m long and 12 m broad is to bepaved with tiles each measuring 500 cm x 300 cm.

To Find :

  • Number of tiles Needed

Solution :

Here in the Question we are given Length and breadth of the verandah and tile. So, Firstly we will find the area of both verandah and Tile. Formula of Area of Rectangle is Length × Breadth. After Getting the Area we will find the Tiles Needed.

______________

  • Length of verandah = 15m
  • Breadth of verandah = 12m

Area of rectangle = L × B

→ Area of verandah = 15 × 12

→ Area of verandah = 180m²

  • Length of Tile = 500cm = 5m
  • Breadth of Tile = 300cm = 3m

Area of rectangle = L × B

→ Area of Tile = 5 × 3

→ Area of Tile = 15m²

Number of tiles Needed

→ 180/15

→ 12 Tiles
