length of outer rectangle=8+2+2+12m
breadth of outer rectangle=5+2+2=9m
area of outer rectangle=l×b=12×9=108m^2
length of inner rectangle =8m
breadth of inner rectangle=5m
area of inner rectangle=l×b=8×5=40m^2
there fore area of verandha=(area of outer figure )-(area of inner figure)
=108-40=68m^2....
