A verandah which is 40 m long and 15 m broad has to be paved with stones, each measuring 6 dm by 5 dm. How many stones would be required to pave the verandah?​

Since:
l =40m
b=15 m
area of verandah[rectangle]=l*b
                                             =40m*15m
                                             =600m.sq
and stone each measuring 6dm by5dm
by converting it into meter we get,
    0.6m by  0.5m
now, area of stone= l*b
                              =0.6m*0.5m
                              =0.3m.sq
now, number of stone required =area of verandah/area of stone
                                                  =600m.sq/0.3m.sq
                                                  =600*10/3
                                                  =6000/3
                                                   =2000.
