Not knowing exactly what you mean by “balances” or the geometry of the apparatus used to balance the columns, let's just assume that the two columns are of equal diameter and mass. Then the 100C column has a volume of 0.2 greater than the 50C column. The average coefficient of thermal expansion over that temperature interval is 0.2/50 or 0.004/C.
