For us to work out this, we first visualize it and come up with a diagram. In the image below I have drawn the diagram.

To solve this question, we use the trigonometric ratio since the diagram is a right angled triangle.

In this case we use tan since we have the opposite line and the adjacent line and the angle which is 30°

Calculations :
Tan of theta=opp/adjacent

Opp=the height of the flag staff.

Tan30.°=h/60

H=60Tan 30°

H=60×0.5774=34.644m
