a vertical rectangular plane surface is submerged in water such that its top and bottom surfaces are 1.5m and 6m respectively below the free surface . determine the position of center of pressure ​

Answer:

Distance between free surface and top surface of plane = 1.5 m

Distance between free surface and bottom surface of plane = 6 m

⇒ Length of the Plane Surface = 6 - 1.5 = 4.5 m

Center of pressure is at the middle of the plane surface.

Middle point of the plane surface = 4.5 / 2 = 2.25 m

So, Distance of position of center of pressure below the free surface = 2.25 + 1.5 = 3.75 m
