Hey !!

  • NITI (National Institute for Transforming India) Aayog came into existence in 2015. It has taken place of Planning Commission, after Planning Commission was abolished my Modi Government in 2014.
  • Its Chairman is Prime Minister of India, Vice-Chairperson is Arvind Pangariya and CEO is Amitabh Kant. It is a policy think-tank which aims to foster involvement and participation of states and Government of India in decision-making process.
  • The key difference between Planning Commission and Niti Aayog is that while Planning Commission has powers to allocate funds to ministers and states; this function will be now of finance ministry.
  • Niti Aayog is essentially a think-tank and a advisory body.

GOOD LUCK !!
