ADVERB
- A word which modifies or describes the verb is called as an adverb.
- Adverbs provide information of when, where, how and to what degree a work is carried out or happened.
- Generally an adverb ends with ‘ly’, but there are many adverbs that don’t have ’ly’ at its end. Adverbs are kept close to the verbs or adjectives which they modify.
For example:
"The children clapped admiringly at the little girl’s extraordinary performance".
- So, in the given sentence clapped is verb and extra ordinary is adjective and performance is verb. Hence, for the given sentence both the possibilities can happen.
