A vessel is in the form of an inverted cone. It's height is 11cm and the radius of its top, which is open is 2.5cm. It is filled with water up to the brim. When lead shots, each of which is a sphere of radius 0.25cm are dropped into the vessel, 2/5th of the water flows out. Find the number of lead shots dropped into the vessel.

let the radius of the cone be r =2.5 cm

let the height of the cone be h = 11 cm.

the volume of the vessel =

the radius of the lead shot =0.25 cm

volume of the lead shot =

let the number of lead shot dropped into the vessel be x.

the volume of the x lead shot = the amount of water flows out=2/5 volume of vessel

hence 440 lead shot dropped into the vessel.
