Given : A wall clock, which gains uniformly, is 1  minute slow at 11 am on Monday, and is 5  min 48 seconds fast at 1 pm on the following  Monday.

To Find :  When did the clock display correct  time?

Solution:

1  minute slow at 11 am on Monday,

5  min 48 seconds fast at 1 pm on the following  Monday

=> 6 min 48 seconds gained in  24 * 7  + 2  = 170 hrs

=> 6 + 48/60 minutes gained in  170 hrs

=> 34/5 minutes gained in  170 hrs

To show correct time 1 minutes has to be gained

=> 1 minute gained in 170 / (34 /5)   = 25 hrs

25 hrs from 11 AM on Monday

= 12 PM TUESDAY

the clock display correct   time  at 12 PM TUESDAY
