⇒ MP = CP + ( 100 + 40 )%

⇒ MP = 100 + 140 / 100

⇒ MP = Rs. 140

• we know the Formula of SP ;

⇒ SP = MP × ( 100 - Discount% )

⇒ SP = 140 × ( 100 - 12 ) / 100

⇒ SP = 14 × 88 / 10

⇒ SP = 1232 / 10

⇒ SP = Rs. 123.2

As, SP is more than CP, then there will be sure Gain to the Shopkeeper.

• we know the Formula of Gain%

⇒ Gain% = Gain / CP × 100

⇒ Gain% = ( SP - CP ) / CP × 100

⇒ Gain% = ( 123.2 - 100 )

⇒ Gain% = 23.2%
