A wasp sting can be treated with vinegar and ant sting should be treated with baking soda.

The reason is that ant stings are treated with baking soda  because ant stings are acidic and Baking Soda and Powder are bases. This helps to neutralize the acid hence reducing the effect.

Vinegar helps to neutralize the poison produced by the wasp.
