A water pipe has an outside diameter 3.5cm and a wall thickness of 25/32cm.What is the inside diameter of the pipe?

Answer:

outside diameter =thickness + inside diameter

3.5 = 25/32 + ID

3.5- 25/32 = ID

(3.5×32) - (25)

32

(112-25)/32 = 87/32

Inside diameter = 2.71 cm
