Let the initial weight of the watermelon be x.

We know it had 90% water at start.

Thus 10%x=weight of watermelon.

After it dries, there is 12%water meaning the mass of watermelon would be 88%x.

This gives us 88/100*x=50

Thus x= 5000/88

=> x=56.81

Thus initial weight (without water) would be 56.81 of whatever unit you had(cant understand)

If you want with water weight, add the weight of water i.e.12%x=12/100*56.81

Initial weight with water=56.81+6.81=63.62
