The weight of the man on moon will be 113.75 N

• Weight = mass * acceleration due to gravity

• Acceleration due to gravity of earth = 9.8 ms ^ -2

• According to the question,

Weight of the man on earth = 686 N

Then, mass of the man = 686 / 9.8

                                         = 70 kg

• Weight of the same man on moon = 70 * 1.625

                                                             = 113.75 N

Thus the weight of the man on the moon is 1134.75 N

Explanation:

We are given that;

  • Weight of the man on earth = 686 N
  • Weight = mass * acceleration due to gravity
  • Acceleration "g" = 9.8 ms^-2
  • Mass of the man = 686 / 9.8
  • Mass of man "m" = 70 kg

Weight of the same man on moon = 70 x  1.625

                                                          = 113.75 N

Thus the weight of the man on the moon is 1134.75 N
