Given,

radius=6+6

= 12

diameter = 12cm

radius

 =  \frac{12}{2} cm

 = 6cm

height of embankment

=> volume of Cylinder=volume of embankment

2\pi rh =2\pi rh - 2\pi rh

2\pi rh =2\pi h(r - r)

2rh = 2h(r - r)

2 \times 6 \times 21 = 2 \times h \times (12 - 6)

2 \times 6 \times 21 = 2 \times 6 \times h

21 = h

h = 21

The height of embankment is 5.25 m.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Diameter = 12 m

Radius = 6 m

Height = 21 m

And width of embankment = 6 m

So, Radius of embankment = 6+6 =12 m

So, we know that

Volume of well = Volume of embankment

\pi (6)^2\times 21=pi (12)^2\times h\\\\\dfrac{36\times 21}{144}=h\\\\h=5.25\ m

Hence, the height of embankment is 5.25 m.
