a)when zinc reacts with sodium hydroxide it forms sodium zincate and hydrogen.
zn + NaOH--------->Na2ZnO2+H2
b)when non metal oxide reacts with bases it forms salt and water .
Ca (OH)2 + CO2------------>CaCO3 +H2O
it is similar to neutralisation reaction so non metal oxide are acidic in nature.
