Catalyst :

❖ The substance which increase the rate of change of reaction without consuming itself is known as catalyst.

  • Example : Nickel and vanadium are the common catalyst.

Chemical reaction :

❖ There are four types of chemical reaction :-

  1. Combination reaction :- The reaction in which two or more elements or compounds combine to form a new compound is known as combination reaction.
  2. decomposition reaction :- The reaction in which a compound decomposes into two or more substances is known as decomposition reaction.
  3. displacement reaction :- The reaction in which one element replace the another element from a compound is known as displacement reaction.
  4. Double displacement reaction :- The reaction in which the parts of two ions compounds are exchanges and two new compounds are formed is known as double displacement reaction.
