(a) A Universal indicator is a solution with a mixture of indicators used for determining the pH of solutions.

(b) A Universal indicator is used for finding whether the provided solution is a base or an acid.

(c)When a few drops of the universal indicator are added to water, it turns to a green colour.

Explanation:

  • With different pH environments, the colour of the universal indicator changes. When the pH of the solution is low, it becomes red. When the solution is high, it becomes violet or blue.
  • The pH of a neutral substance is 7. So, when a few drops of the universal indicators are added water in a test-tube, it turns into a green color.
