(a) What is carried by the right and left chambers of the heart?
(b) Why do these two chambers separated?
(c) Where does blood go from the right ventricle and from left ventricle?

1. The heart has four chambers: two atria and two ventricles. The right atrium receives oxygen-poor blood from the body and pumps it to the right ventricle. The right ventricle pumps the oxygen-poor blood to the lungs. The left atrium receives oxygen-rich blood from the lungs and pumps it to the left ventricle.

2. The chambers are separated so that the carbon dioxide rich blood does not mix with the oxygen rich blood.
