Geographical Isolation
- Speciation due to geographical barrier leading to formation of new species
- This is mainly attributed to the fact that, the gene pool is stagnant, new genes aren't formed
Illustrate formation of a new species with the help of an example where the individuals are from two different species
- Mule,is a cross breed which has of a male horse and a female donkey.
- It has 63 chromosomes in contrast to 64 in horses and 62 in donkeys
- Most mules are rendered infertile given the fact that they are a cross breed
Note
Donkeys,Zebras and Horses evolved from a common ancestor Orlando 5 million years ago
