Addition reaction are the reactions in which hydrogen is added to unsaturated hydrocarbons  and give saturated hydrogen carbons.

eg:

Ethene                      Ni CATALYST      ETHANE

CH2=CH2 + H2      ------------------------->CH3-CH3

                                    heat

B)What is added to groundnut oil when it is to be converted to vanaspati ghee ?

Vegetable oil are  unsaturated hydrocarbons containing double bonds. Hydrogen is added and heated in presence of Nickel catalyst to give vanaspati ghee

                                         Ni CATALYST

Vegetable oil + H2  ---------------------------------> Vegetable ghee

                                          heat

c)Vegetable oils containing unsaturated fatty acids are good for health.
