TO DETERMINE

a. The volume of box

b. The area Suresh painted

c. The area Deepak painted

d. The amount Harsh charged

e. The amount Veena paid for painting

EVALUATION

a. Here the dimension of the box is

Length = 40 cm , Breadth = 30 cm , Width = 20 cm

Hence the required volume of box

= 40 cm × 30 cm × 20 cm

 =  \sf{24000 \:  \:  {cm}^{3} }

b. The black area was painted by Suresh

Dimension is Length = 40 cm , Breadth = 30 cm

Hence the area Suresh painted

= 40 cm × 30 cm

 \sf{ = 1200 \:  \:  {cm}^{2} }

c. The blue was painted by Deepak

Dimension is Length = 30 cm and breadth = 20 cm

One side of the area Deepak painted

= 30 cm × 20 cm

 =  \sf{600 \:  \:  {cm}^{2} }

Total area Deepak painted

 =  \sf{2 \times 600 \:  \:  {cm}^{2} }

 =  \sf{1200\:  \:  {cm}^{2} }

d. The green was painted by Harsh

Dimension is Length = 40 cm and breadth = 20 cm

The area Harsh painted

= 40 cm × 20 cm

 \sf{ = 800 \:  \:  {cm}^{2} }

Hence the amount Harsh charged

= Rs 2 × 800

= Rs 1600

e. The amount Veena paid for painting

= Rs ( 2400 + 2400 + 1600 + 1600 )

= Rs 8000
