firstly on solving I got to know that these all are coming as radius not diameters
No. of revolutions =1000
distance=88km
since
number \: of \: revoutions =  \frac{disance \: travelled \: }{circumference}
now circumference=
 \frac{88000}{1000}  = 88
Now,
diameter =
88 = 2 \times \frac{22}{7}  \times \frac{x}{2} \\ x =  \frac{88 \times 7}{22}  \frac{308}{11}  = 28
therefore the answer will be. {C} .

The diameter of the wheel is 28 m

Given :

A wheel makes 1000 revolutions in covering a distance of 88 km

To find :

The diameter of the wheel is

A. 24 m

B. 40 m

C. 28 m

D. 14 m

Solution :

Step 1 of 2 :

Calculate the circumference of the wheel

Here it is given that the wheel makes 1000 revolutions in covering a distance of 88 km

1 km = 1000 m

∴ 88 km = 88000 m

The distance covered in 1000 revolutions = 88000 m

∴ The distance covered in 1 revolution

= 88000/1000 m

= 88 m

Now the wheel covers 88m in one revolution implies that the circumference of the wheel is 88 m

Step 2 of 2 :

Calculate the diameter of the wheel

Let radius of the wheel = r metre

The circumference of the wheel = 2πr metre

By the given condition

\displaystyle \sf{2\pi r = 88  }

\displaystyle \sf{ \implies 2 \times  \frac{22}{7} \times r = 88 }

\displaystyle \sf{ \implies r = 88 \times  \frac{1}{2} \times  \frac{7}{22}  }

\displaystyle \sf{ \implies r = 14}

∴ The radius of the wheel = 14 m

∴ The diameter of the wheel

= 2 × 14 m

= 28 m

Hence the correct option is C. 28 m
