To find : The centripetal acceleration of a point on the edge of wheel is ...

solution : radius of wheel, r = 30 cm = 0.3 m

angular velocity of wheel, ω = 180 rev/min

= 180 × 2π/60 rad/s

= 6π rad/s

now centripetal acceleration, a = rω²

= 0.3 × 6π m/s²

= 1.8 × 3.14 m/s²

= 5.652 m/s²

Therefore the centripetal acceleration of a point on the edge of wheel is 5.652 m/s².
