This white coloured powder which is used by doctors in order to support fractured bones is Plaster Of Paris (POP).

Plaster Of Paris - CaSO₄.¹/₂ H₂O

When Plaster of Paris is mixed with water, a hard solid mass is obtained which is called Gypsum(CaSO₄.2H₂O).

CaSO₄.¹/₂ H₂O + 1 ¹/₂ H₂O -----------> CaSO₄. 2H₂O

Hope it helps!!
