Explanation:

Lead nitrate is the white crystalline salt. When it is heated, it makes a crackling noise and produces 2 gases NO2 & NO3. The colour of NO2 gas is reddish-brown.

Answer:

The white crystalline salt is Pb(NO3)2 ( lead nitrate)

on heating.. it produces crackling sound due to presence of oxygen gas. The reddish brown gas is of Nitrogen dioxide and the colourless gas is of oxygen. A yellow precipitate of lead oxide is formed.

2Pb(NO3)2→2PbO+4NO2+O2

hope it helps..
