A window has a height of 1m and a width of 0.5m.Two beams of width 10cm each cross the window one parallel to the width and other parallel to height .find the area of open part

Answer:

Area of window = 1 × 0.5

= 0.5 m2

Area of beam = 2 x [( 0.1 × 1 ) + ( 0.1 × 0.5 )]

= 2 × ( 0.1 + 0.05)

=2 × 0.15

= 0.30 m2

Therefore, 0.5 - 0.3

= 0.2
