A window is 12 feet above the ground. A ladder is placed on the ground to reach the window. If the bottom of the ladder is placed 5 feet away from the building,
height -12
base-5
to find hypotenus
h²=5²+12²
h²=25+144
h²=169
h,=13

<b>HERE IS YOUR ANSWER :-

A window is 12 feet above the ground.Bottom of the ladder is placed 5 feet away from the building.

Here building , ladder and ground forms a right angled triangle.

So here
one side = 12 feet
other side = 5 feet
Lenght of ladder is hypotenuse.Let it be x feet.

By Pythagoras theorem,

x² = 12² + 5²

=> x² = 144 + 25

=> x² = 169

Taking square root on both sides

=> x = √169

=> x = 13 feet.

So the lenght of ladder is 13 feet.
