Given :

  • A wire 120cm long is bent into a rectangle with length 50cm.

To Find :

  • Breadth

Solution :

Here in the question we are given that a wire 120m is long bent into a rectangle. So,120cm is the Perimeter of the Rectangle. Length of Rectangle is given 50cm. By using the formula of Perimeter of Rectangle that is 2 (Length + Breadth) we can easily find the Breadth of Rectangle

Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 (L + B)

➛ 120 = 2(50 + B)

➛ 120/2 = 50 + B

➛ 60 = 50 + B

➛ B = 60 - 50

➛ B = 10cm

Verification :

➛ Perimeter = 2 (50 + 10)

➛ 120cm = 2 × 60

➛ 120 = 120

Hence, Verified

Breadth of Rectangle is 10cm
