A wire has resistance R in cut into two equal pieces the two part are joined in parallel what is the resistance of combination

Let the length of the wire be 'l' and area of cross-section be 'A' and resistivity of the material be q

Therefore R = ql/A

When it is cut then take each of the piece:-

Its resistance = q(l/2)/A = R/2

WHen joined in parallel Net resistance  = R/4
