✯Given✯

Side of square formed = 27 cm

✯To find✯

Radius of semi circle formed = ?

✯Analyzation of the question✯

A wire is bent in the form of square

Then the wire is straightened and formed into semi circle

We shall find the radius of that semi circle formed

✯Solution✯

Length of the wire = Perimeter of the square = 27 × 4 = 108 cm

When the wire is bent into the form of semi circle, then we can clearly say that the perimeter of the semi circle will be 108 cm

Now, let r be the radius of the semi circle

Then it's perimeter = r ( π + 2 )

Then it's perimeter = r ( ²²⁄₇ + 2 )

Then it's perimeter = 36r ÷ 7 cm

We know the perimeter, equate it

36r ÷ 7 = 108

r = 108 × 7 ÷ 36

r = 21 cm

∴ The radius of the semi circle so formed is 21cm
