Since the wire is just bent from square to circle, its length will not change. Thus,

Perimeter of square = circumference of circle

Let the radius of circle be r

Hence, perimeter of square = 4 × side = 4 × 66 = 264 cm

Circumference of circle = 2πr

=> 2πr = 264

Taking π as 22/7,

2 × 22/7 × r = 264

=> 44/7 × r = 264

=> r = 264 × 7/44

=> r = 42 cm

Answer :- Radius of circle formed is 42 cm

QUESTION

A wire is bent into the shape of a square side 66 cm.If the same wire looped in the form of circle.What will be the radius of the circle?

ANSWERS

Length of wire = 4a
= 4 × 66 cm
= 264 cm

Now,
Circumference of circle = Length of wire
2 π r = 264 cm

r = (264 cm) / (2 π)
= 42 cm ………[Take π = 22/7]

Radius of circle is 42 cm
