A wire is in the shape of a rectangle with length 6cm. It is bent to form a square whose side is 5cm. Find the breadth of the rectangle. Also, calculate the areas of both the rectangle and the square and find which shape encloses more area

Answer:

length of wire = 4*5 ( perimeter is same for both)

=20cm

a of square = 5*5

25

b of rectangle => 2(6 + b) = 20

12 + 2b = 20

2b = 20-12

2b = 8

b = 4

a of rectangle = 6*4

=24

therefore square takes more space
