since therr perimeter are equal,
per( sq)= per ( rect)
4*20=2(l+b)
80=2(16+x)
40-16=x
x=24
ar(sq)=20*20=400
ar(rect)=16*24=384
∴sq has larger area

perimeter of square = 4×side
= 4×20
= 80 cm
perimeter of square = perimeter of rectangle
80 = 2×(l+b)
80 = 2× (16×b)
80/2 = 16+b
40-16 = b
24cm= b

area enclosed by square = side x side
= 20 x 20
= 400cm²
area enclosed by rectangle = l x b
= 16 × 24
= 384cm²

Hence, square encloses more area than that of rectangle.
