Answer:

Breadth = 18cm

Length   = 25cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Perimeter of Rectangle = 86cm

Breadth = b

Length = 7 + b

Perimeter = 2(l+b)

86   = 2( 7+b+b)        [Substitute value of length here]

43   = 7+2b

43 - 7 = 2b

36/2 = b

18cm = b

Length = 7 + b = 7 + 18 = 25cm

  • As per the data given in the question, we have to find the length and breadth of the wire.

        Given data- Length=86cm.

        To find:- New length and breadth of the rectangle.

        Solution:-

        Let the new length and breadth are l and b respectively.

        According to the condition,

        Breadth=l-7.

        We know that

        The perimeter of the triangle is 2(l+b)= the length of wire.

         Putting the value of b in this formula. we get,

         \Rightarrow 2(l+l-7)=86\\\rightarrow 2l+2l-17=86\\\Rightarrow 4l-14=86\\\Rightarrow 4l=86+14\\\Rightarrow 4l=100\\\Rightarrow l=25.

         So, the breadth will be 7cm less than its breadth

         \Rightarrow b-7=25-7=18cm.

        Hence, the length and breadth will be 25 and 18 respectively.
