A wire of length l and resistance r is stretched so that its length is doubled and the area of cros section is halved. how will its resistance change

Let the initial resistance be( Look at the picture)
Now,

Let the resistance after doubling the length and halving the area be R'

R' = rho x 2L / (A/2) = 4 (rho x L / A) = 4R

Resistance increases 4 times.
