The resistivity of the two parts will be same. If we cut the wire into two equal parts then the length will be change of the wire but will not change the resistivity of the wire. Because resistivity depends upon the material of the wire. Hence, The resistivity of the two parts will be same.

Given :

▪ Length of wire = L

▪ It is cut into two parts having length ratio 2 : 1.

To Find :

⟶ Ratio of resistivity of two parts.

Solution :

➳ Resistance of a conductor is directly proportional to the longth of conductor and inversely proportional to the area of cross section of conductor.

Mathematically,

\dashrightarrow\bf\:R\propto \dfrac{L}{A}

◕ Putting proportionality constant,

\dashrightarrow\bf\:R=\rho\times \dfrac{L}{A}

where, \rho denotes resistivity of conductor.

⇒ Resistivity is a materialistic property of conductor.

⇒ It doesn't depend on the dimension (Length or Area of cross section) of conductor.

⇒ Resistivity of conductor depends only on temperature.

⇒ Therefore, Resistivity of both parts will be same.
