A wire of uniform thickness with a resistance of 27 is cut into three equal pieces and they are joined in parallel. Find the resistance of the parallel combination.

Since it is given, the wire is of uniform thickness.So, the area of this particular wire is Uniform

I.e A=Constant

A/Q.....the wire is further divided into 3 equal parts and is connected in parallel to one another.

So, we know 1/R=1/R1+1/R2+1/R3

Each cutted down wire having 27 ohm each

So, Net Resistance becomes,....

1/R=1/27+1/27+1/27

=3/27

=1/9

So,Net R becomes 9 Ohm.....
