A woman has 60 notes in all rs.10 amd rs.20 of denomination .if the total worth of the notes is rs.850 find out how many notes of each kind does she have

x+y=60,10x+20y=850 solving both

10(60-y)+20y=850

10y=250

y=25

and x=35 so 10 rupee notes is 35
and 20 rupee notes is 25

x +y = 60

x = 60 - y

now 


the total money was 850 rs

so

10x +20y = 850

now, since x = 60 - y

10x +20y = 850

10(60 - y) + 20y = 850

600 - 10y + 20y  = 850

600 +10y = 850

10y = 250

y = 25

now x = 70 - y

= 70 - 25

= 35 

so 10 rs notes = 35 and 20 rs notes = 25
