A wooden box has dimensions in the ratio 4:3:2 and their sum is 72cm.find its volume

ratio of dimensions= 4:3:2

let the deimensions be 4x,3x,2x

sum of dimensions =72(given)

4x+3x+2x=72

9x=72

x=72/9

x=8

Now...

Ratio is 4:3:2 we wrote it as 4x,3x,2x

Putting the value of x

4x = 4*(8) = 32

3x = 3*(8) = 24

2x = 2*(8) = 16

Therefore dimensions are 32 cm , 24 cm , 16 cm

Volume = length*breadth*height

Volume = 32*24*16

Volume = 12288 cm^3
