A wooden cube of side 4cm has been painted with different colours. the two opposite surfaces are painted red, the other two with green colour. out of the remaining two surfaces, one is painted white and the other is painted black. now the cube is cut into 64 equal cubes how many cubes have only green colour?

total cube=64
side of cube =4
so
if one side is coloured green then the area of the side=16sqcm
the four coloured squares are the number of cubes containing only green colour.

As the cube is cut into 64 equal cubes, so 4×4×4

The cubes with one side green will be 16 from one surface and 16 from another surface.

But the cubes with only green will be the middle 4 cubes in one surface and 4 cubes in another surface because remaining will have one face green and one or more other face as either red, black or white.

So total number of cubes with only green colour painted is 8.
