A work can be finished by 10men and 12 women in 10 days and the same work is completed by 5 men and 3 women in 20 days. so find the days required to complete the same in by 18 women

let no of days menalone work=y

let no of daywomen work=x

then 10/y+12/x=1/10......(1)5/y+3/x=1/20.....(2)

let 1/y=a,1/x=b. then 10a+12b=1/10   , 5a+3b=1/20

                               =100a+120b=1....  100a+60b=1

by solving this we get  x=60   60(18)=108 days
