We know that work done = energy
Since we are talking about height thus we are dealing with gravitational potential energy.
Given;
- E = 4900 J
- M = 50kg
- h = h meters
- we know that g = 9.8m/s²
Thus gravitational potential energy = E = mgh
- E = mgh
- 4900 = 50 × 98/10 × h
- 4900 = 5 × 98 × h
- 49 × 100 = 5 × 98 × h
- 1 × 20 = 1 × 2 × h
- h = 10m
