a workman is paid rupees 150 for each day he works and is fined rupees 50 for each day he is absent .in a month of 30 days he earned rupees 2100.for how many days did he remain absent

150x+50y=2100
3x+y=42-------(1)
x+y=30----(2)
now solve both equation
x=6 and y=24
he absents 24 days
