Parts of female reproductive system are described below -

Ovary is the part of female reproductive organ which is connected to fallopian tube. It serves main function of producing ovum.

Oviduct also known as fallopian tube joins ovary with uterus. It is the site of fertilization of ovum and sperm in humans.

Uterus is muscular organ found in females. It is located between bladder and rectum. It has three layers, out of which endometrium is shedded during menstruation. Uterus is the site of implantation of blastocyst and baby develops here.

Placenta is the connecting link between mother and baby. It has tissues of both mother and baby. Chorion from embryo forms placenta.

It serves very important function of exchange of waste material from baby. It also transports nutrients from mother. Immunoglobulin G is the only immunoglobulin that can cross placenta, and provide immunity to the baby.
