Answer:

Explanation:

1. This reaction is called anaerobic reaction. It's equation is

glucose + enzymes = carbon dioxide + ethanol / lactic acid.

2. Alveoli is the balloon like structure present in lungs. It's function is The alveoli are where the lungs and the blood exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide during the process of breathing in and breathing out.

3. Haemoglobin is the respiratory pigment. It's function is to transport oxygen present in blood to different body parts in the form of oxyhaemoglobin.

Hope it helps you

(a) Anaerobic respiration takes place in yeast, which is called fermentation. The reaction is:

Glucose(C6H12O6) -->(Glycolysis-in cytoplasm) Pyruvate or Pyruvic acid -->(Absence of 02) 2C3H6O6 + 2ATP

(b) The balloon-like structures that are present in the lungs are called alveoli. They increase the surface area for exchange of gases, besides being very thin (about one cell thick). His aids in quick diffusion. They contain an extensive network of blood vessels, which help in transporting 02 from lungs to blood to be transported to all the cells of the body, and CO2 from the blood to lungs to be exhaled.

(c) The respiratory pigment in human beings is haemoglobin. It helps in transport of gases throughout the body.

It has high affinity for 02. Hence, it combines with 02 to form oxyhaemoglobin, and then transports it to all the tissues deficient in 02.

It has affinity for CO2 as well. About 10% of the C02 is transported as carboxyhaemoglobin, after haemoglobin combines with CO2.
